Project Segno brings Garnai members closer to cultural preservation initiatives from around the world. We’re deepening the connection between ourselves and the people behind the places we admire most, the cultures they protect, and the traditions they carry forward.
Our goal is to help exceptional people continue exceptional work.
In Italian, Segno means mark, trace, or the lasting impression something leaves behind.
Every place worth remembering exists because of the people who dedicate their lives to preserving its traditions, restoring its historic spaces, passing on its knowledge, and carrying its culture forward for future generations.
Their work leaves a lasting mark on the world. Project Segno is our commitment to helping these stories continue.

HOW IT WORKS
Each year, we select a handful of cultural preservation initiatives from around the world to support, alongside respected local organizations and global heritage partners. Some of these preserve centuries-old crafts, others restore historic libraries, sustain community music schools, protect wildlife, pass along culinary traditions, or invest in the next generation of artists. All are united in the belief that culture is something to be lived, shared, and protected.

Throughout the year, members are invited into each initiative through interviews and public conversations, project updates, and opportunities to meet the people behind the work. These relationships will continue in person through Garnai Gatherings and Hosted Journeys as well as members’ private travel.
At year’s end, the Project Segno Report will publish our progress, the stories we shared in, and the people whose work continues because of it.
